YungJoon KWON (Managing Partner / Patent Attorney at KWON & KIM Patent & Trademark Attorneys) was appointed as a member (consultant) of “The Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council” of Korean Food and Drug Administration (MFDS, K-FDA).

The Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council composed of experts in pharmaceuticals is a statutory advisory committee that carries out specialized deliberations and consulting activities with respect to overall pharmaceutical affairs and pharmaceuticals, etc., for the Korean Food and Drug Administration (MFDS) as well as for the Ministry of Health and Welfare.

The Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council separately organizes and operates Expert advisory groups of which experts are selected from each of academic fields including medicine, pharmacy, biology, chemistry and statistics, or with recommendation by consumer organizations, in order to secure professionalism and fairness of the deliberation.

The Central Pharmaceutical Affairs Council, in which YungJoon KWON participates as an expert, will deliberate standards, safety and efficacy of drugs and quasi-drugs, relief system for adverse drug reactions, classification of Over The Counter Drug (OTC) and Ethical The Counter Drug (ETC), and issues to be deliberated by the Korean Food and Drug Administration (MFDS) and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, etc. Also, his term is currently until July 2020.
